The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

David Fincher, after directing Se7en (1995) and Fight Club (1999), show us "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (2008). It is a romantic drama including fantasy and mystery, with Eric Roth's screenplay (same guy that wrote Forrest Gump, 1994), based on a F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel. This possibly based on a Mark Twain quotation: "Life would be infinitely happier if we could only be born at the age of eighty and gradually approach eighteen". The movie is about Benjamin, born like someone being 80 years old and getting younger along time. It is also a love story between Benjamin and Daisy. The couple (Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett) is perfect, as well photography and sound track. Don't miss it.

Atmosphere containing wood flours scent. Mountain relief, Pinheiro do Paraná (Araucaria angustilofia) forests.

a)Pousada O Montanhês
Sertão do Cantagalo neighborhood. Altitude: 1750 m. Easy acess. Steep, with a nice landscape. Confortable. Good breakfast. VHS and DVD movies can be chosen to the TV inner circuit. Restaurant by evening.
Observation: This is the first post I publish in loco. Osvaldo, the hotel owner and runner, told me the wireless lan password, and I'm trying to manage this brand new notebook, under Linux.


b)Pedra do Forno
Terra Fria neighborhood, near Juncal. Easy acess, not signalized path, but with no error chance; around one hour steep path. Near 360° view, mountain horizon. Left photo is a view of Pedra Chanfrada, took from Pedra do Forno.


c)Restaurante Papaya
São Sebastião das Três Orelhas neighborhood.
Easy acess, signalized. Simple and tasty food. Low to intermediate prices. José Augusto, the owner, also sells honey.



d)Cachoeira do Cruzeiro
Costas road, towards Sertão do Cantagalo. Easy acess, although not signalized. Worthy to be seen from the right margin of Capivari River.


e)Marcelo's Bar
Try coffee, beer or "cachaça", or at least check your e-mails.


f)Pousada Solar d'Araucária
Restaurant and possibly the best hotel in the region. It has a trek along a creek with a great volume of water and several small falls.
